I earned my BS in Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA and my MA in Mathematics from the University of California in Santa Barbara. I also hold a secondary school teaching credential.

Originally from Puerto Rico, I was inspired by my high school math teacher to go into teaching math, and as a high school senior, taught my first math class (Algebra 2 Honors) at my high school. I worked my way through college by teaching and tutoring math. After graduate school, I taught as a fulltime faculty member at Santa Barbara City College for eight years before moving out of the area.   Other teaching experience includes teaching and training in Microsoft Office products. Life brought me to Arizona in 2007, and I currently teach math at  Yavapai College.

While in graduate school, I discovered singing with Sweet Adelines, and now, over twenty years later, I sing with the award winning Scottsdale Chorus. I love teaching and I love singing with my chorus!
